Much valuable information about mathematics, applied math, statistics, and actuarial science, including career information, conferences, journals, scholarships, summer activity, can be obtained from the web sites of various professional organizations.

The American Mathematical Society (AMS)  is an organization devoted to mathematics research and professional mathematicians.
The American Statistical Association (ASA) website for all sorts of information about statistics as a career and a field of study.
The California Mathematics Council ( CMC) is a professional organization of educators who are individually and collectively dedicated to the improvement of classroom instruction in mathematics at all levels.
Visit the Computing Reseach Association website. Computing Resources Association (CRA) is an association of more than 200 North American academic departments of computer science, computer engineering, and related fields; laboratories and centers in industry, government, and academia engaging in basic computing research; and affiliated professional societies.

The Mathematical Association of America (MAA) is an organization devoted to undergraduate students and the undergraduate mathematics curriculum.
The Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematicians (SIAM) is devoted to applications of mathematics and mathematicians working in industry,
  Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) delivers resources that advance computing as a science and a profession. ACM provides the computing field's premier Digital Library, leading-edge publications, conferences, and career resources.
  The Association for Women in Mathematics (AWM), an organization devoted to woman mathematicians and important issues related to the equal treatment of woman in mathematics.
  The Institute for Operations Research and Management Science (INFORMS) has a web site that contains lots of information about careers in Operations Research.
  The Society of Actuaries (SOA) has a web site and they sponsor a related website

Mathematrix is a web site devoted to exploring mathematical recreations - the more entertaining (and generally lesser known) areas of mathematics. This site can be enjoyed by anyone, from individuals with little or no math background to professors of the subject.

 

Careers in Mathematics 

For information about careers in mathematics or other related fields check the math dept. web site or the web sites of various professional organizations, AMS, MAA, SIAM, ASA, SOA.  The career center is also a place that you can go to get information about careers and jobs that are available.  The career center sponsors career fairs and invites recruiters to campus including some from companies with jobs for students majoring in math.
