To determine
eligibility for Math 19 , Math 30 or Math 30P at San Jose
State University |
| Who needs to take it? |
Students who
wish to take Math 19, Math 30 or Math 30P at SJSU and who are
not otherwise exempted. Students need to satisfy the ELM
requirement prior to taking this test. |

Entry Level Math Exam
| What is it for?

To determine
eligibility for college level mathematics courses at Cal State
Unviersities. |
| Who needs to take it? |
All students who
have not earned an exemption. |

Advanced Placement Exam
| What is it for?
|
To determine
mastery of the AP Calculus Curriculum. |
| Who needs to take it? |
Students who
took AP Calculus in High School |

Typically, this test is taken in high school. Students who
receive a score of 3 or better on the AB test can get college
credit for Math 30 at SJSU. Students who
receive a score of 3 or better on the BC test can get college
credit for Math 30 and Math 31 at SJSU. A 3 or better exempts
students from the Mathematics Placement Exam.
