Goldston Biography Page

I was born on January 4, 1954 in Oakland, California. I grew up in Piedmont, California, attended MIT as a freshman in 1971, and Berkeley off and on from 1972 until 1981. After graduating I worked at the University of Minnesota Duluth for a year, and then spent a year at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton. In 1983 I was hired by San Jose State where I have been ever since, except for semesters spent at the Institute for Advanced Study in 1990, the University of Toronto in 1994, and MSRI in Berkeley in 1999.

In 2003 I became famous for a few weeks. Here is an article, My 30 Minutes of Fame,  I wrote for the department newsletter (on page two) concerning my brush with fame.
