Richard P. Kubelka is a native Californian, educated at Georg August Universität in Göttingen, Germany, and the University of California at Berkeley, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.  He received his Ph.D. in mathematics from Stanford University; his dissertation topic was in algebraic topology.  After spending three years at the University of Oklahoma as a Visiting Assistant Professor, Dr. Kubelka came to San Jose State in 1983.
