What is the Putnam?
The William Lowell Putnam Mathematics Competition is an annual contest held for undergraduate students in the memory of William Lowell Putnam. There are cash prizes for the top five teams and for the top five individual competitors. Also, for the female competitors there is a cash prize for the Elizabeth Lowell Putnam Prize which is "awarded periodically to a woman whose performance on the Competition has been deemed particularly meritorious."
