Late breaking news

(12/18) Final exam solutions have been posted. Happy holidays and have a wonderful winter break!

(12/14) Here are some good problems for reviewing:

Ch. 13 review exercises: 8, 12, 20;
Ch. 14 review exercises: 10, 23, 24, 26, 42, 56, 60, 63;
Ch. 15 review exercises: 9, 11, 18, 21, 30, 34.

(12/11) Here's a practice final.

(12/10) I just posted a handout Math 32 essentials. I'll post review questions and a practice final soon.

(12/9, part 2) We now have a room for the review session: it's MH 224.

(12/9) Since I didn't cover the whole section 15.6 yesterday, you can turn in Homework 14 on Friday, December 12. Either give it to me during the review session or slide it under my office door by 1:30.

(12/8) Quiz 10 solution has been posted. My office hours for the rest of the semester are:

Wed. 12/10: regular office hours (10-10:30 and 11:20-12:30)
Fri. 12/12: 10-12:30 + review session 12:30-1:30 (room TBA)
Mon. 12/15: 10-1
Wed. 12/17: 10-12

(12/5) Homework 14 (the last one!) has been posted and is due on Wednesday, December 10.

(12/2) A tentative plan is to have a review session on Friday, December 12 at 12:30. Let me know as soon as possible if this doesn't work for you.

(12/1) Problems 40 and 41 from section 14.8 are hereby declared extra credit problems. You can turn them (as well as any other extra credit problems) any time before the last day of class.

(11/30) Homework 13 has been posted and is due on Monday, December 8. There will be no quiz tomorrow, December 1. The final quiz will be on December 8.

(11/26) Quiz 9 solution has been corrected.

(11/24) Quiz 9 solution has been posted.

(11/23) Homework 12 has been posted and is due on Monday, December 1.

(11/17) Quiz 8 solution has been posted.

(11/16) Homework 11 has been posted and is due on Monday, November 24.

(11/10) Here's an extra credit problem: section 14.5, exercise 56.

(11/9) What I meant was: homework 10 is due on Monday, November 17!

(11/7) Homework 10 has been posted and is due on November 18.

(11/5) Midterm 2 solutions are here.

(11/2, part 2) As I said on Friday, it's OK to turn in the homework on Wednesday. And remember that you are allowed to bring to the exam one 3 x 5 inch index card with your notes.

(11/2) Here's a practice midterm.

(10/30) To review for the midterm (which covers sections 13.4 and 14.1 - 14.6), I suggest that you go over the quizzes and homework problems, review the theory (and especially those parts you feel least comfortable with; going over the homework will help you indentify those), and then try these review problems:

Chapter 13 review: ex. 17, 18;

Chapter 14 review: True-False quiz problems 1-6, 8,9. Exercises 2, 5, 9, 10, 17, 21, 28, 31, 39, 42, 44, 46.

I also suggest that you keep a list of questions whose answers you don't know. You should think about them, try to solve them independenty, then if you can't, ask me for help. That way you can cross them from the list one by one until you're through, which will mean that you know everything!

(10/27, part 2) Quiz 7 solution has been posted.

(10/27) Homework 9 has been posted and is due on Monday, November 3. Remember that Midterm 2 will be a week from this Wednesday. It will cover sections 13.4-14.6. We'll review for it next Monday.

(10/22) Quiz 6 solution has been posted.

(10/19) Homework 8 has been posted and is due on Monday, October 27.

(10/14, part 2) Just a reminder that quiz 6 will be on Monday, October 20.

(10/14) I will not be able to hold my usual office hour between 11:20 and 12:30 tomorrow, Oct. 15. Sorry about that.

(10/13) Quiz 5 solutions have been posted. Homework 7 is due on Monday, October 20.

(10/2, part 3) Homework 6 has been posted and is due on Monday, October 13.

(10/2, part 2) Midterm 1 solutions have been posted.

(10/2, part 1) I'll be collecting homework 5 tomorrow (Friday), since I forgot to do it yesterday.

(9/26) Quiz 4 solution has been posted.

In addition to the homework problems, which you should definitely review, here are some other good review problems for the midterm:

Ch. 12 review. True-false quiz: 7, 8, 13, 15, 16; Exercises: 5, 7, 11, 16, 17, 19, 25, 35, 37.
Ch. 13 review. True-false quiz: 3, 4, 8, 9. Exercises: 2, 8, 10, 11, 12, 17.

(9/24) If you need a tutor, here's some information that may help you find one.

(9/22) Sorry for the delay in posting quiz 3 solution. Here it is!

(9/18) Homework 4 has been posted and is due on Friday, September 26. Quiz 4 will be on the same day. Recall that Midterm 1 is on October 1.

(9/16) As announced in class, homework 3 is now due on Friday, September 19.

(9/11) Here's the quiz 2 solution. Homework 3 has been posted and is due on September 17. Quiz 3 will be on the same day.
