Definite and indefinite integration and applications, infinite series.  4 units. Graphing calculators are recommended:  TI-86 (or TI-85 or TI-92) are encouraged.

Textbook. Calculus Early Transcendentals, James Stewart, Brooks/Cole, 1998.

Homework. Homework exercises are assigned to follow the lectures presented in class, and were chosen as a small representative of what should be learned. The student is strongly advised to attempt as many other problems as possible. No late homework will be accepted. The student is strongly urged to join small study groups--the participation in such groups can be of great benefit.

Exams. There will be 3 midterms and 1 final exam. There will be no makeup exams.
The final exam will take place as specified in the Final Exam Calendar found in the Schedule of Classes.

Grading. The grade in the course will be determined as follows:

homework  180 points
midterms  160 points each
final  340 points
total 
1000 points

Withdrawal.  The consequences of dropping a course are to be determined by the following schedule:
          Refund Day:  Last day for a student to drop a class with a refund
         Census Day:  Last day for the student to add a class, or drop without a W
Refund Day is the 14th day of instruction; Census Day is the 20th day of instruction
